SNACKS FOR YOUR EYES: SCAPE

SCAPE

'SCAPE' forms the root of the word 'Escape' and 'Landscape'. When I photograph a 'SCAPE' I am not referring to an uncivilized landscape void of humanity that captured the hearts and souls of artists at the turn of the 19th century. I see a 'scape' more as an urban spread where human's presence is omnipotent and ever-present. I find it fairly pointless to romanticize geographical areas where no human's cohabit with the natural environment. That being said, I understand the importance of national parks and nature-preserves throughout the world. I suppose its the old Pinochet versus Muir argument. Here are some SCAPES.
